John Stanaland Group, an Orange County family-run brokerage that produced more than $300 million in sales last fiscal year, has departed Villa Real Estate to join Douglas Elliman Realty.
The 11-member team will focus on luxury coastal homes. They will be based at Douglas Elliman’s Newport Beach office.
John Stanaland Group has a number record sales including the records for two of Monarch Bay’s highest sales; the highest sale of $6.7M in Monarch Beach Resort history; Laguna Niguel’s most expensive sale for $9.7M and the Strand for $19.3M; and the third highest sale in Coto de Caza, along with four of five highest condo sales within Orange County.
Howard M. Lorber (executive chairman of Douglas Elliman) stated that Douglas Elliman’s presence is growing stronger in Southern California. “John and his team will accelerate that growth and strengthen Orange County’s standing,” said John M. Lorber, executive chairman of Douglas Elliman.
The current listings of the team include a Laguna Niguel mansion worth $48.9 Million and a Montage Way resort home worth $39.7 Million.

Stanaland, a fifth generation real estate professional from Laguna Beach has more than $4.5 Billion in total sales.

Stanaland’s family includes his wife Rachel, son Trevor, Logan Montgomery and Andrew Ly. Also, Deb Robinson and Gary McCord are included. Taylor Nelson and Mitch Frisch are also included. Tyler Stanaland is Stanaland’s oldest son and is currently associated with The Oppenheim Group.

Douglas Elliman Realty was founded by Joseph Design Build, a luxury developer. The Joseph Group is a three-person realty firm. Elliman Productions, a content creation and marketing tool for real estate agents powered by Infinite creator, was launched by the brokerage in the same month.
Douglas Elliman Realty was featured on RealTrends 500 in the “Top Real Estate Brokerages By Sides” category in 2022. It had more than $51 Billion in sales volume for 2021.
